Description
The model created to win tournaments. DRAG TOUR ISSUE was SQUAD’s first mid-mallet and combines characteristics that normally sit at opposite ends of the putter spectrum: directional stability and genuine head manipulation. Its proportions communicate a clear path towards the target, but the surfaces remain deliberately rounded enough to avoid the visually rigid appearance of many modern mallets.
The sole develops SQUAD’s Rise Sole concept into a Dual Sole, helping the head establish a stable position behind the ball. At the rear, a distinctive diffuser-inspired structure removes mass from the back of the head and shifts the centre of gravity forward. This shallow centre-of-gravity position is critical.
Instead of behaving like a deep-CG mallet that wants to resist rotation completely, DRAG retains the responsiveness and timing sensation of a blade. The head combines SUS303 stainless steel with a lightweight A2017 aluminium section and produces 28° of toe hang. Only 100 individually numbered Limited 100 putters were produced.
An extraordinary combination of Japanese machining, motorsport-like industrial design and tour- focused performance.
